the weekend that went on and on and on
Well, we lived through the first Razorbacks game of the season. The picture you see below- that's dreadful excitement on our faces folks.
I don't think I've ever been so hot. I lived in Mexico for two months during the summer in college. Let me repeat. I have NEVER in my whole life been so hot. But, we made it..and the Hogs got the win. Added bonus- none of us passed out. Yay!
Added bonus- we found Chick-fil-A sweet tea during the third quarter- exactly what we needed to get through the rest of the game.

Sunday Tye and I drove up to Springfield to attend church at Second Baptist. It was so great to see familiar faces and grab a few hugs before heading to his parents' house for a family reunion.
Grandma Jackie taught me how to make strawberry pie after much begging from me.
We spent Monday at the lake, and it honestly couldn't have come at a more perfect time. With everything that has been going on with my dad, the lake is something that just calms me and puts me at rest. Part of that probably comes from the many fishing outings my dad and I took when I was little and how still I had to be when we were at the lake. I have always loved the water for many reasons, but it makes me realize how small I am. I've mentioned before how much I love that feeling. There is so much comfort knowing that I am not in control, because a lot of the time I make myself believe I am.
Catie and Keith came up to go to the lake with us, and I got to practice my amateur photography skills. Thankfully, they are an attractive couple. I think that helped the pictures out quite a bit. ;)
Poor Catie hurt her knee...the things you'll do for a good shot.
We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and teaching Keith how to shoot a gun. Overall, the weekend was great. We spent time with family watching football and on the lake..what more could a girl want?
