baby geese, flowers, and sweet tea

Well, I mentioned ice crunching weather the other day..

We aren't quite there yet, but I'm enjoying where we are. There is a park right behind my office building. It is actually the park that Tye and I visited on our first date and the one where Keith proposed to Catie. To say the least, it is one of my favorite places.

Tye told me last night that the temperature was supposed to climb into the low 80's today with full sun- Praise the Lord! During one of my breaks, I took the time to run up to McAlister's and grab a sweet tea during their happy hour (3-5PM). I also took a nice stroll around the pond.

On my walk, I saw these little guys. Their momma was eyeballing me the whole time I was trying to get pictures. She was not havin it with me being close to them. I really don't have anything profound to say about them other than I think they are cute, and the sign of new life is exciting and brings so much hope.

Maybe I will get to see some baby ducks in the next few days. So precious!!

I can't get over how beautiful the flowers around the park are..they are all blooming right now, and there are so many different kinds. One tree that I hadn't noticed before is sporting these gorgeous blooms. I had to take a picture, because I had never seen them before.

I can't help but think of Matthew 6:28-- "And why are you troubled about clothing? See the flowers of the field, how they come up; they do no work, they make no thread."

Tye and I are definitely in a trying season right now. We are trying to find our place in Springfield while looking for jobs elsewhere. We honestly have no idea where we are supposed to be. He has not heard anything about the job in Bentonville, but we are trusting that the Lord will work things out on our behalf. I found myself wanting to contact everyone I know to help Tye get his foot in the door. That is not my job though. It would be silly not to use our resources, but it would also be silly to "get ahead of God." He has been obvious to this point. Why would we doubt Him? Why do we think he would set something up and then leave us hanging? When has he EVER done that before?

So, for now, we wait. Our trying season is trying because we have to be still. Neither of us are good at that. We both like to see progress. We like to be aware of what is going on. When there are unanswered questions, we don't sit. We figure them out. The Lord is definitely teaching us. He is teaching us to pray. That is the way we can be active in the midst of stillness. We wait, we pray, we trust.
